Near Faggos Canyon to the East of Arta Prefecture at an area full of pine and chestnut trees, we find Messounta. You can taste the delicious roast meats in the local tavern as well as roast chestnuts that thrive due to the climate of the area. Faggos Canyon can be found at Messounta near Acheloos River.

At the end of the asphalted route you must descent for 20 minutes. Just before reaching the canyon, a red arrow will guide you to the monument of Aris Velouhiotis, the chief of EAM-ELAS (the Greek Revolutionary Frontier) during World War 2.
